Warp Guide
Also known as the Navigator Primaris, the Warp Guide is wholly responsible for steering the vessel through the treacherous tides of the Empyrean, both the safer routes within Imperial borders, and the terrible, dark voids beyond. The Warp Guide's burden is heavy indeed; he and he alone stands as a bulwark between thousands of faithful Imperial souls and the unbridled damnation of the warp. A single mistake and terrible demons of the empyreal space will consume the vessel and all aboard it, and that horrid death will be but a prelude to the eternal torment that follows.
Career: Navigator
Subordinates: Lesser Navigators on board, trusted bodyguards and assassins, emissary of the Navigator House elders.
Required Skills:
Navigation (Warp): Employed for travel within the terrible Empyrean.
Trade (Astrographer): For recording the details of new warp routes.
Scholastic Lore (Astromancy): Useful when deciphering the subtleties of partial void-maps.
Forbidden Lore (The Warp): To anticipate to mitigate the worst upheavals in the Empyrean during warp travel.
Benefits:
The Warp guide gets +5 bonus to the Navigation (Warp) skill for purposes of steering the ship through the warp.

PRAETUS - WARP GUIDE
Praetus was one of the only survivors to survive the hulking of the Scream of the Aquila in a classified disaster.
Returning to the Calixis sector, the self named Praetus soon found that his reputation preceded him. No one lauded him for surviving against impossible odds; he was considered ill omened, and some whispered that the Navigator gene had corrupted him and his actions, and that he had led the Scream of Aquila to its doom. Despite his attitude of not caring what anyone thought - he was a member of House Praetus - the nobility and navy could not shake their suspicions. His decadence in the following months further entrenched their attitudes. Almost six months after the tragedy of the battle cruiser, he left the sector for Port Wander and joined with House Atreides.
Another quirk of this navigator is his obsession with commissars, he smokes cigars, likes to drink and dine in style and wearss the dress of a commissar and use the hat to hide his third eye. This further adds to the fear surrounding this navigator.

OTHER NAVIGATORS
Gulliame Du Preste - an uncomfortable man to look at, Du Preste is horribly thin. His skin clings to him like worn leather, tightly wrapped to bone. Known to be quite professional, he was the acting Senior Navigator before Praetus's arrival. He exhibited no resentment at being replaced, and appears to like little more than keeping to himself and seems to disappear for long periods simply saying he wishes to read. Unless on the bridge, Du Preste is almost always alone. By nature he is quiet and reserved; he rarely speaks when he is not confident of what he is saying.
Karis - a young navigator with eyes as black as pitch. Used to following very specific instructions, he does not so much lack confidence as know when he should rely on other's experience.
Julient - Refined and elegant, her chance at social advancement in regular society is only marred by the fact that she belongs to a rare class of psykers. Julient is well-travelled and appears to be difficult to surprise. Whether this is a feigned condition, cultivated by years of affected indifference, or whether it is because she has delved into much forbidden knowledge, is hard to say. Around thirty years old, her features are cold, though she is more than capable of winning people's trust and, even, adoration.
