House Rule - Ship Combat and Movement.
Remember the original Battle Fleet Gothic board game?
The great thing about that game that seems to be missing from our space combat rules, is simultaneous movement. Yes you heard me right... its all about trying to second guess your opponent and get the advantage in terms of firing arcs. This would leave the action sequence as follows:
1 - Declare all extended action and roll for success or failure - Done simultaneously.
2 - Movement of all NPC vessels secretly planned before Players declare there exact movement.
3 - PCs and NPC Vessels declare movements and action them.
4 - Depending on distance, Hit and Run and Ramming/Boarding extended actions can be attempted in initiative order.

quite like that idea, have you considered doing space combat in a play by mail way to save time during sessions and give us something to do during the week.

hmm intriguing thought, would be more dramatic that way, could be some good descriptive/roleplaying writing going on too.
Ive found space combat does eat a chunk of the gaming session with no roleplay value to it, this could bring that into it.
Would everyone actually go on the boards and participate? I can see no reason other than laziness. Good Idea mate, i like it
